Parables of Jesus
Lesson Plan

Flofi: The Lost Sheep
Based on the Parable of the Lost Sheep in Matthew 18:10-14. In this lesson children will learn about God's unconditional love for the lost and undeserving of society, for God gave His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, so that we may have eternal life. Jesus is truly our Good Shepard.

The Wise Builder
Based on the Parable of the House Upon the Rock in Matthew 7:24-29. In this lesson children will learn that obeying is better than “breaking down,” for storms will come, and only those who have built their lives on the firm rock of unconditional obedience to God will remain immovable.

The Sower
Based on the Parable of the Sower in Mark 4:13-20. The parable of this lesson is part of a set of six other parables narrated by Matthew in chapter thirteen, whose objective is to speak of the Kingdom of God. In this lesson children will learn how the Word is preached or sown, like a seed, in people's hearts.

The 10 Virgins
Based on the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Mathew 25:1-13. In this lesson children will dive into this parable told by Jesus to teach His disciples the unpredictability of His coming, and the need to be prepared for that time.

The Bad Servant
Based on the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant in Matthew 18:21-35. In this lesson children will learn profound reflections of our condition as sinners and God's voluntary and merciful act of forgiving us. It also teaches us the response the Lord expects us to offer to our neighbor.

The Lost Coin
Based on the Parable of the Lost Coin in Luke 15:8-10. In this lesson children will learn about a woman who owns ten coins and loses one. In this story, the presence of four verbs is evident; lose, seek, find and rejoice. This illustrates God's insistent restorative love for those who are lost.

Salt and Light
Based on the Parable of the Salt and Light in Matthew 5:13-16. In this lesson children will learn that the followers of Christ are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. It basically means that we are agents who promote the truth of the kingdom of God on earth.

The Prodigal Son
Based on the Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32. In this lesson children will learn about two lost young men. One who left home and one who was lost within his own home, and in the end both were able to enjoy the drops of hope that emanate from the heart of the heavenly Father who has chosen to love us.

The Lamp on the Stand
Based on the Parable of the Lamp on the Stand in Luke 8:16-18. In this lesson children will learn that those who accept the Gospel in their hearts learn to see and act according to the vision and action of Jesus. The understanding increases as we act. Those who do not act lose even the little understanding they already have.

Wheat and Tares
Based on the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares in Matthew 7:20. In this lesson children will learn about the existence of evil in the midst of good and the ultimate separation between the two. In his teaching, Jesus makes it clear that, at certain stages, evil spreads so stealthily that it is practically impossible to differentiate it. In the end, however, He will take care, through His angels, to separate the good from the evil.

The Talents
Based on the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:20-26. In this lesson children will learn that on one hand we must await the coming of the Lord, on the other hand, as long as this does not take place, it is our duty to work in the Lord's causes by sharing the Gospel to the whole world. This is exactly what Jesus taught with this parable; we need to develop the talents we have received from God.

The Good Samaritan
Based on the Parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37. In this lesson children will learn that Jesus teaches us that helping our neighbor goes above and beyond ethnic and religious differences, and that our neighbor is anyone who needs our help. By helping those in need without expecting nothing in return we serve Jesus!

The Net
Based on the Parable of the Net in Matthew 13:47-50. The purpose of this parable was to highlight the eternal destiny of the wicked. In this lesson children will learn that one day there will be the consummation of the ages, or the end of times, and society as we know it will have a final destiny and on this day those who did not accept the message of the Gospel will be sentenced to an eternity without salvation.
